Kinetic

Kinetic (adjective)

: of or relating to the motion of material bodies and the forces and energy associated therewith.

A great writer friend of mine @CorinneOFlynn is responsible for my better understanding the concept of synchronicity. (Hint: what day is S?) And another great example of this came up when I went to webster.com to grab the definition for Kinetic.

Usually, I grab the basic definition, but the first full definition underneath grabbed my attention. Right then and there, it clicked. The basic premise behind the novel I am working revolves around kinetics. And when I look at scenes I have written through the lens of “relating to the motion of material bodies and the forces and energy associated therewith” it all starts to gel even tighter.

The forces and energy can be any number of things. In my case, they are both physical and spiritual. For others, the forces and energy can be mental and demonic. There is just so much flexibility in the concept of kinetics, the possibilities seem endless.

All writers should love endless plot themes.

  1. Woot! Thanks for the shout out. Can’t wait to see what you do with your WIP. The concept is thrilling, and thinking of the ways you plan to use the principals of kinetics… cool.

  2. Love your science fiction theme! 🙂 Will come back for more. Happy A-Z ing!
